Workwize is an Amsterdam-based platform that procures, ships, manages and retrieves IT equipment for distributed teams in 130+ countries, sold as a per-seat subscription with a 150-user minimum. The Workwize alternatives below differ on three points : whether devices can be leased rather than bought, whether MDM and security are included, and whether smaller teams can sign up without a seat minimum.

How we selected and ranked these alternatives
Fleet publishes this page and is one of the alternatives listed. Each vendor was assessed in October 2026 from its own public materials (product, pricing, security and terms pages) and dated press coverage, for a company of 50 to 500 employees with staff in several countries. Vendors are ranked on six criteria: fit for that profile, scope of offer (hardware, financing, MDM, security), geographic coverage, contract flexibility and minimums, pricing transparency, and published compliance evidence.
Every vendor is described with the same fields. Where a vendor does not publish a figure, the table and the sections say "not published" rather than estimating it. Customer review scores and anonymous comments were not used.
Why look for an alternative to Workwize
Teams usually compare Workwize alternatives when one of its published characteristics does not match their situation. Four of them, all taken from Workwize's own site in October 2026, explain most evaluations: a seat minimum, a purchase-based model, MDM delivered through third-party tools, and pricing on quote only.
150-user minimum. Workwize's pricing page lists a minimum of 150 users across its Basic, Professional and Enterprise plans. A 40-person scale-up is below the entry threshold.
Devices are bought, not leased. Workwize's pages describe procurement from a catalogue; leasing or rental is not mentioned. Companies that want to spread hardware cost as an operating expense need a separate financing partner.
MDM through integrations. Workwize pre-provisions devices into Apple Business Manager or Windows Autopilot and connects to MDM tools, but does not present its own MDM. The MDM licence and its administration stay with the customer.
Pricing on quote. Plans are tiered by seats and regions, with no published price. Workwize states that it does not charge per device, per shipment or per ticket.
Workwize also lists ISO 27001 certification and SOC 2 Type II compliance on its security page, and coverage in 130+ countries, so compliance evidence and reach are rarely the reason for leaving.
1. Fleet: end-to-end IT management with leasing, MDM and security
Fleet (fleet.co) is an IT management platform for fast-growing companies with international teams. It combines hardware provisioning, purchased or leased, with device management and security in one contract, across 150+ countries. Unlike Workwize, it has no seat minimum and includes its own MDM rather than relying on a third-party tool. It can also adapt to your MDM if you already have one.
Fleet's catalogue lists 200+ products, from laptops and phones to screens and accessories. Devices can be bought or leased over 36 months with no deposit and no minimum order, and companies can sell their existing fleet back to Fleet through leaseback to free up cash. Each device arrives configured and enrolled in MDM, with an average delivery time of about five days stated on the IT equipment leasing page. The Cockpit tracks every device, assignment and ticket, and connects to the HRIS to trigger onboarding and offboarding.
Two software layers sit on top. Manage covers mobile device management for macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android. Secure adds proactive cybersecurity: AI-assisted vulnerability detection with human review, automated security policies, shadow IT management and remote lock and wipe, with partners including Omnissa, SentinelOne and Keeper. Fleet states SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 compliance and serves 2,000+ companies.
Best for: companies of 10 to 500 employees hiring in several countries that want one provider for hardware, financing, MDM and security. Pricing: software plans from €11.50 per device per month (October 2026); device prices on quote. Limits: hardware prices are not published; the standard lease term is 36 months, so it suits multi-year refresh cycles better than very short rentals.
A criterion-by-criterion view of the two platforms is available in our Workwize vs Fleet comparison.
2. GroWrk: pay-per-order global logistics
GroWrk is a device lifecycle platform covering procurement, rental, deployment, retrieval and storage in 150+ countries. Its main difference from Workwize is the pricing structure: companies can use the platform without a subscription and pay per order, which lowers the entry point for smaller or irregular hiring volumes.
The A La Carte plan has no SaaS fee and charges per order. The Flex plan, aimed at companies with 100+ employees, adds a subscription with logistics charges, integrations and 24/7 AI-assisted support. GroWrk lists SOC 2 Type II on its pricing page. Plan prices are not published; the pricing page provides a calculator and a quote request.
Best for: teams of any size with uneven hiring flows who want global logistics without a seat commitment. Pricing: on quote (October 2026). Limits: MDM and security are not part of its core offer, so a separate MDM remains necessary.
3. Deel IT (Hofy): equipment inside an HR and payroll platform
Deel acquired Hofy, a London-based device supply company, in July 2024, and offers device rental, shipping and IT support to its customers under the Deel IT and "Hofy by Deel" names. It suits companies that already run employer of record (EOR), payroll or contractor management on Deel and want equipment in the same platform.
At the time of the acquisition, Hofy covered 127+ countries, according to Deel's legal adviser Orrick. Deel's equipment page now describes rental with no security deposit, plus shipping, offboarding, reassignment and inventory management, and notes that availability varies between countries. Software provisioning and MDM under Deel IT were listed as "coming soon" on Deel's UK equipment page in October 2026. Pricing, equipment country coverage and certifications specific to the equipment offer are not published.
Best for: Deel customers who want equipment on the same contract as their HR and payroll. Pricing: on quote (October 2026). Limits: current equipment coverage and certifications are not published; MDM was not yet generally available on the page checked.
4. Firstbase: device lifecycle for larger, US-centred teams
Firstbase is a device lifecycle platform that became part of AppDirect, a B2B commerce company, after an acquisition announced in December 2024. It covers procurement, deployment, tracking, repairs, retrieval and redeployment in 150+ countries for companies of 50 to 15,000 employees.
Unlike Workwize, Firstbase lets customers buy, lease or send in devices they already own. It works alongside the customer's existing MDM rather than replacing it, and describes itself as one of about 200 Apple Business Partners in the US. Pricing is a single subscription per active seat, with no published figure. Firstbase states SOC 2 and NIST compliance. When the acquisition was announced, Channel Futures reported that the offering would be accessible through technology advisors, which is worth checking for direct purchase.
Best for: larger companies with a strong US footprint and an MDM already in place. Pricing: on quote (October 2026). Limits: no native MDM; the sales channel changed with the AppDirect acquisition.
5. Rippling IT: device management inside an HR suite
Rippling IT is the device management module of Rippling, a US workforce platform. It combines MDM for macOS, Windows, iOS and iPadOS with device ordering, warehousing and retrieval, and automates provisioning from HR records. It fits companies that already use Rippling HR and want devices triggered by hiring and departures.
The geographic scope differs sharply from Workwize. According to Rippling's own October 2025 review of its product, device ordering is available in the US and Canada, inventory management in the US, Canada and the UK, and other countries must purchase devices externally. Linux and servers are not covered. Rippling indicates that device management typically starts at about $8 per user per month, with the final price depending on the modules chosen.
Best for: North American companies already on Rippling. Pricing: from about $8/user/month, vendor estimate (October 2026). Limits: device ordering limited to the US and Canada; lifecycle automation is built around Rippling's own HRIS.
6. Grover for Business: flexible rental in four European markets
Grover is a Berlin-based tech rental company whose business offer rents laptops, smartphones, monitors and accessories to companies on monthly terms. It differs from Workwize in two ways: devices are rented rather than bought, and rental periods can start at one month, which suits temporary staff and short projects.
Most products carry a minimum rental period of 1, 3, 6, 12 or 24 months, after which customers can keep renting or return the device free of charge. Grover's site lists Austria, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain. Grover Business Premium adds asset assignment, employee profiles and order tracking, but no MDM or security features are listed. Prices are shown per product; larger orders require a custom offer.
Best for: companies in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands or Spain that need flexible rental terms. Pricing: monthly per product (October 2026). Limits: four country sites listed, no MDM or security features listed.
Which alternative fits your company?
The right Workwize alternative depends on team size, where employees are based, and whether MDM and financing should come from the same provider. Six profiles cover most situations, each pointing to the vendor whose published offer matches best on the deciding criterion.
50-500 employees, spread across Europe and beyond, no in-house MDM team: Fleet, for hardware leasing, MDM and security in one contract across 150+ countries.
Below 150 seats, irregular hiring: GroWrk (pay per order) or Fleet (no minimum order). Both avoid Workwize's 150-user threshold.
HR, payroll and EOR already on Deel: Deel IT, to keep equipment and contracts in the same platform.
1,000+ employees, US-led, MDM already deployed: Firstbase, built to sit next to an existing MDM at enterprise scale.
North American company on Rippling HR: Rippling IT, as long as devices ship within the US and Canada.
Short-term or project-based needs in DACH, the Netherlands or Spain: Grover for Business, for rentals from one month.
What to check before switching from Workwize
Moving from one device platform to another is mostly a contract and data exercise. Five checks prevent most surprises.
Contract end date and notice period of the current Workwize agreement, and whether the seat tier can be reduced before renewal.
Device ownership: devices bought through Workwize belong to the company and can be enrolled in a new platform; confirm any storage or retrieval fees outstanding.
Devices in Workwize warehouses: list stock held locally by country and plan its transfer or retrieval.
MDM enrolments: Apple Business Manager and Windows Autopilot assignments must be moved to the new MDM server, otherwise devices will not enrol correctly after a reset.
Asset data export: serial numbers, assignments, warranty and purchase dates, to import into the new inventory.
For employees in several countries, our guide on how to ship laptops internationally covers customs, battery rules and lead times for the transfer.
FAQ
Who are Workwize's main competitors?
The vendors most often compared with Workwize are Fleet, GroWrk, Deel IT (formerly Hofy), Firstbase, Rippling IT and Allwhere. They differ on financing (purchase, leasing or rental), on whether MDM is included, and on minimum commitments. Grover for Business is also used when flexible rental matters more than global shipping.
Is Hofy still available after the Deel acquisition?
Yes. Deel acquired Hofy in July 2024 and still references "Hofy by Deel" and Hofy sign-up on its equipment pages in October 2026. The offer is being folded into Deel IT, which Deel presents alongside its HR, payroll and EOR products.
What happened to Firstbase?
AppDirect announced the acquisition of Firstbase in December 2024; the purchase price was not disclosed. Firstbase now presents itself as "an AppDirect company" and continues to sell its device lifecycle platform by subscription per active seat.
Does Workwize offer laptop leasing?
Workwize's site describes buying devices through its catalogue and does not mention leasing or rental as of October 2026. Companies that want to lease laptops usually look at providers such as Fleet, Firstbase, Deel IT or Grover, which include leasing or rental in their offer.
Which Workwize alternative includes MDM?
Fleet and Rippling IT include their own MDM or adapt to the MDM of the employee. Workwize, GroWrk and Firstbase integrate with an MDM the customer already has, and Deel listed MDM under Deel IT as "coming soon" in October 2026. Grover for Business does not list MDM features.
Conclusion
Workwize suits companies above 150 seats that buy their devices and already run an MDM. Workwize also is not the best if you are trying to deliver your laptop to challenging countries (Israel, Singapour, Philippines, Saudi Arabia). For teams that are smaller, want to lease rather than buy, or need MDM and security handled by the same provider, the alternatives above cover those gaps in different ways.
